Hamoon Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hamoon

Hamoon

Months have passed and I am in the dark
No news amidst him saying: "Will inform! "

Astronaut in space and in Black Hole.

I saw him as a child; son of good friends
Now must be in his forties.

He, a pawn on chessboard and a ball in the courts
Is now a silhouette to my eyes; I am on fire.

He is an example of my sons, my daughter
He is an example of many children
All pawns and balls of the games life plays.

Would it have been different?
If Shah was in place
If war of Vietnam
If Republics were in White House
If Kremlin and Moscow
If British relations with Persia
If Mao and Zhou Enlai
Had remained as they were?

Oh absence of him and his news kill me…
He is an example of many youngsters…
I see them as a father should
"Love you my children…"

I fear he may be in one of prisons
I fear he may have done what should not
Did he hit his mother?
Did he kill his mother?
His reason, if he has, has a depth
Simply the change in conditions!

Hey you in peace and in comfort
Hey you blind to the pains
Lucky you are to be a potato on the couch
Lucky you unaware animal, head in sands
But are you human?
