Hammer In Hand Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hammer In Hand

Hammer in hand
I stand
Firm
Left foot straight
Right knee bent
A portrait
For sculpture

I have a nail
Want it firm
Somewhere
Anywhere
In the air
(Maybe)

To hang my hat
A question
'Why? '

Gun in hand
He's killed three
Wounded some
The police

The bells toll
The words roar
Tears fall
Eulogy

Break the shell
Then confirm
'Something's wrong'
Ask the killer

He said:
'I am done'
Surrendered

What?
Why?
