Great Souled Moon Light

Rating: 5.0

She and me afloat in a boat,
her head lays in my arms as she hummed
a lovely tune of love,
(UNDER THE STARS)

Her beauty breath taking,
The full moonshine falls in lagoon
lands in her eyes like the ocean deep,
(Brown)

Gentle breeze blows bye like
the hours i would wish to never end
on the calm waters by palm trees

(BLUE)
As i sip wine and wonder what it
taste like on her strawberry lips,
I pull up close, Taste hmm good!
(OH WHAT A SMILE)

I brush her lush black hair
to the back of her neck
and i whisper in her ear
(I LOVE YOU ENDLESSLY)
I stop and look up to the moon,

She says Hmm baby don't
stop for tonight me you moon and lagoon
are going to melt in each others arms
(UNDER THE STARS)
ENDLESSLY I LOVE YOU
MY SOUL AND YOURS

It is an awesome poem, a pure joy to read it. It reminds me of several romantic poets, the debonair of Shelley, the sensuousness of Keats, the opening lines bring to my mind The Last Ride Together of Robert Browning but with in a different mood. Hey, I was also afloat in your boat, you didn’t see, being unaware of it in the ecstasy of love. There is a couplet in Hindi literature, I rendered it in English while commenting on Sneha's poem, I would like to reproduce the same with a little change: The lagoon on earth And the moon in sky, Love evokes the moon-lit night, On full moon the lagoon heaves sigh. i've never been one for romantic poetry that seems so popular...i've read many, and yours, as some, has the ring of the typical 18th century love poem, yet the way you depict it makes it more alive...a definite 10... ~Leslie~
