Grace Poem by Richard Hinz

Grace

I never know when you will call
Then you come without warning
I give you all that I am
And you leave!
So I sit at the window
Watching the day
Watching the night
Watching for you
To come
You play on my hopes
You laugh at my fears
And then you come!
So I cling to you
Like snow on a frosted window
But that just darkens the view of you
I panic
I need you to be with me
But because of this winter
You leave
So I sit at the window
Waiting for the spring
To come
The waiting and the watching
The watching and the waiting
The day is long
The window has cleared
Will you come.
