Richard Hinz Poems

1.

I have two eyes
One looks up
To the sky
The other
...

In a place
Where I am
You enter
Into me
...

We all should have a protective inclination
To protect the eye
With the eye we see
And what the eye sees
...

I profess Angels
For angles
And they smiled
Oh..
...

I saw you there in the parking lot
Standing all alone with your little push cart
Looking for your car to go home
You looked at me and gave a helpless smile
...

There are two ways
To tame a dragon
One way is to wait
Till it sleeps
...

7.

I never know when you will call
Then you come without warning
I give you all that I am
And you leave!
...

The greatest gift
Is to help the blind
To see
Spit on my hands
...

Every event is like a bazaar
We bargain with our minds
And cast our bids
With our hearts
...

I built a bridge
Out of flesh and bone
But when I got over
No one was home
...

11.

Every moment is dying
To the past
In the same breath it is rising
In favour of what we are summoned
...

There is a trillion doors
With choices and more
In all directions
Just when you thought
...

I have been awakened
Cut and pasted
Collected bones
From charred houses
...

The Best Poem Of Richard Hinz

Eyes

I have two eyes
One looks up
To the sky
The other
To where
We have traveled

Two eyes
Struggling to see
They are one
Together
Looking out
For the other!
