Governor Andrew Cuomo Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Governor Andrew Cuomo

There is something to admire,
About someone...
Conscious and competently aware,
Of the facts.
With the ability to intelligently,
Explain the basics without them abstract.
Direct, meaningful.
And done calmly in these times of confusion.
Threatening reality,
To distract the truth of it.

This is rare.
In times when many are postering image.
Imitating to charade,
A position of leadership.
Governor Andrew Cuomo,
Is that leader that has risen...
From an image 'mythed'.
To expose himself one more qualified,
Than many.
Proving what it takes to bring this reality,
Of a true leader centerstage.

Captivating during a time of crisis.
Unmistakably a leader needed,
During such mind blowing days.
Not to mistake,
His position to take is faked.
Or imitated just to give presence.
Governor Andrew Cuomo,
Is the real deal of that leader.
Doing his best to keep the focus,
On the many and not the few...
Suffering through an epidemic no one knew,
Could be as devastating as it is!

Unlike others elected to protect,
Self interests and delusions.
In the hope they can be,
That leader reflected to project...
What it is a leader imitating should be.
The substance and quality,
They miss to not have.
Leaving the people more aware of the past,
Can not satisfy their immediate needs...
To have their leaders,
Rushing to protect and defend them.
The people. Representatives of humanity!
Not those to have been elected,
To charade their egos and narcissism...
Greeding with a feasting.
Done to do as they please.

And...
Governor Andrew Cuomo?
Is rare.
Indeed!
