Goodbye To Mans Best Friend Poem by Elusive Conclusive

My dogs name was Dotty Ive had her almost ten years
Ive just had to have her put down and its brought my family to tears
she was a great dog and yappy all the time
seeing her last night i knew she wasn't fine
I took her to the vet to get their point of view
either an emergency operation or euthanasia to choose
I didn't want to do it but the operation was a 50/50 chance
it would cause other complications and her life would not be enhanced
So I chose the injection as i could see she was in so much pain
Now she has gone and my life will never be the same.
The vet went out of the room to give me time to say good bye
I think my dog knew what was going to happen I could see it in her eyes
the vet came back in with the needles and syringe
just looking at that stuff really made me cringe
As the vet put the needle in my dogs vein
she let out a yelp to show she could feel the pain
as the fluid was put in I said one last good bye
My dog then laid down and in my arms is where she died.
