Goodbye, Iitk Poem by Surajit Basu

Through examination
Or special application
We gained admission
To this institution.

We remember the allocation
Of our rooms as the inception
Of our association.
Was the coordination
Of our habitation
An indication
Of predestination?

I recall with emotion:
Many a card session,
The eternal commotion
Of our recreation,
A Culfest inauguration,
A New Year celebration,
The democratization
Of taking a decision
(Result: consternation) ,
The mutual toleration
And cooperation -
And Every job refection
(Ah! What consumption) .

From Orientation
to the cancellation
of the Convocation
(From the initiation
to the completion
Of our graduation
- Oh! Congratulation!)
It's been "consolidation"
For our organization.

But then it was separation
Each to his own vocation:
Be it administration
Or higher education
Industrial production
The teaching profession
Or the police station.
(The diversification
Of occupation
Again a reflection
Of the variation
within this collection) .

At point of embarkation,
There was lamentation,
But also an anticipation,
Of a future reunification
On the shores of this nation.
