God It's Great To Be Alive Poem by Justin Gildow

God It's Great To Be Alive

Darkness always finds a way to creep into my soul
Always finding a way to consume me whole
When and where if love ever comes
I'll lie in wait

I point to the sky and say
' God it's great to be alive '

Living in the world today
Sometimes no one can survive
Sometimes no one can make it out alive
Sunken hearts are held
Candles are lit to light the way
Secrets stay buried in our souls

When and if ever love comes to find me
I'll lie in wait
Awaiting my date with destiny
And leaving everything else to fate

God it's great to be alive
