Getting Played Poem by Kimberley Marie

Getting Played

Rating: 4.0

My love for you won't go away;
I wish I was with you everyday!
You make it seem so real,
And I don't know what to feel.
You play with my head,
Just to get me in bed.
THE PASSION WE HAVE...
I know you're fakin',
You're really taken.
And you don't have a clue
About how much love I have for you.
You want me to stay,
Then you push me away!
Am I a loser?
Are you just a user?
I'VE BEEN USED BEFORE...
I'm sick of this game,
It's gettin' lame.
Is it love I see?
When you look at me?
I LOVE THE FANTASY STILL...
My heart does ache,
it may break.
Can't you see
What you're doing to me?
I wish I was better
So you can be proud of 'how you met her'.
But instead
You get in my head.
I THINK OF YOUR FACE...
Then I crack a smile,
It won't take a while.
When you're not near,
I drink more than one beer.
I turn into a boozer,
And become such a loser.
YOU MAKE ME WANT TO BE A BETTER PERSON...
Don't take this aggression
As some sort of obsession.
I was given this love
From someone above.
I know you love inside and outside;
I hope one day you can say this with pride.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was an 'exotic entertainer' in my early 20's. I started dating this guy, whom I still think of often. After a year of dating, I discovered he was married. Ofcoarse I knew it was wrong, but I fell in love. I was never the same again after him. He tore my heart out.
