Funeral Fun Poem by Lewis Eron

Funeral Fun

What happens when you die?
All your friends will say “Good-Bye”
And your loved ones will cry
And someone will try
To say something nice
About you.

In twenty minutes or less
Without much fuss or mess
We lay you to your rest
For good or better or best
And then we’ll have a snack
Or two
Or three
And a cup of coffee
Or a spot of tea.

You’ve read all the books
About post-mortem good looks
And what happens to crooks
Thieves, killers and other schnooks
When they die.
They fry!

You won’t be coming back so soon
Not until that eternal noon
When the sun is swallowed by the moon
And nature plays a snazzy new tune
In the time of the birth
Of a brand new heaven
And a renewed earth

We’ll meet at the intersection
Where peace meets desolation
At the time of resurrection
For some strudel and tea
Just you and me
And just enjoy
How nice it will be
Just wait and see

All real poets make me to feel to steal it...... When the sun is swallowed by the moon And nature plays a snazzy new tune In the time of the birth Of a brand new heaven And a renewed earth
