Friendly Living Poem by Jay Bunny

Friendly Living

Live the life you want, want the life you live.
Protect yourself you must, and your heart you should wisely give.
Baby steps have gotten me here, scars on my feet tell the story.
My heart shaped world spirals up and down, and the truth lies right before me.
It’s like driving with no seatbelt on, or banging with no rubbers.
But don’t shut the door completely, don’t hide in the cupboards.
Forgiveness frees the soul, and lies chain you to shame
Believe in myself? My conscious screams my name.
Vibrations of love sent out, when my positive switch is on.
I give more than I ever take, why does it sometimes feel wrong?
It’s because Face value plays a game,
Bahaha leaving me felling used once again.
Bouncing back from this empowers me,
I pride myself with inner love and harmony.
Needing to remind myself at times, who my true friends are,
The ones that give me truth respect and love from near or far.
Warm tears spill down my check, knowing they're forever in my heart
If I’ve never told them before, right now is the best time to start.
Thank you for your wisdom, your grace, and your respect for yourself
You’re an inspiration for love, peace, contentment and health.
When days or weeks go by without hearing from you,
I still know you’re still around and our friendship is still true.
You’ve taught me so much, and I thank you once again
And still I go learning, some lessons causing pain .
Embrace your only gift that you give yourself each day,
Love this life you live and live it in a loving way.
