Free Love Poem by chichichapatile mangochi

Free Love

It springs from a well of humanness,
infectious and sometimes conspicuous;
even marriage or religion cannot
dictate who to love,
is love ever wrong?

It can land anywhere
free of man's traps and snares
and eat fruit from any tree,
eat bacon in full view of Middle- Eastern sun;
do I not belong to the whole world?

It frees the clogged heart
riddled with bullets of misery
and madness in a troubled world
to become a pigeon
landing to offer manna
in the wilderness.

It ignites smouldering, or the feeling
of being about to die
glowing or in flames,
without attachment to fame,
love is free as the rain.
