Turn the page
and read ahead,
see what I haven't.
Tell my story
before I've lived it.
Be all that you are,
even if I won't.
Open your arms up to the sky,
soak in the sun.
Flourish baby, flourish.
Be the flower I know you are.
Bloom with brilliant colors,
let your roots grow deep.
Steal my spot in the sun
and drink my water,
this old weed doesn't need it.
Take all that you can,
fragile flower, take it.
Your bright colors
will grow dark with my blood
and your own.
Don't let the world
crush your petals
and the wind
tear up your roots.
Open up to the sun,
your sun.
Let his love warm up your heart.
Soak it in,
be strong.
I'll lead you and guide you,
I'll cry for you
and I'll die for you.
But I can't if you won't let me.
