Fox Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Fox

Fox

He lies and steals, cheats
He is a Syrian refugee
One of those who
Never knew of
Western world
Include Canada
Resided in Halab, Aleppo
Not exact, nearby
Never saw a school
Does not know how to read
Does not write

He knows well how to act like a fox
Let lion, jaguar, fight zebra
Sneak in and take part
In dining and steal
The liver or the heart
Whatever tastes better; digests well

Be a worm
No track of who, what
Just live on
Pretend to be limb, handicapped
Carry a white cane or ear-aid
Hide from all the eyes for giving
Be around when it rains
Wind is dead, breeze gains

Is this fox acting wrong?
Is it need or greed?
To survive?

Life meaning to him is nothing
But
Inhaling-exhaling, just breathe

His intake
Defecate
Value same…

Must be fox to survive! ! ! !
