Forgetting Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Forgetting

Now comes the last goodbyes
The longing is no longer there
The sighing ceased and dry the eyes
Hearts now are free from love and care.

Words have emptied of their sweetness
Gazes are far and never meet
Blank looks that all speak of sadness
The promised future we now forfeit.

The stage is set for the forgetting
All things must end with time someday
Release the past with all forgiving
We tried to love but it's gone away.
