For Momma Poem by RAJESH DEY

For Momma

My momma has gonna old
She feels forsaken, abandoned
Don’t harangue why doth she?
Everyone just has similar experiences
It is only a matter of time!

You have all your explanations
What she needth be doing
Instead just respect momma’s demands
She is as human as you
She knoweth your burden
You shall know sooner
It is only a matter of time

She bore you in her womb
With such care and love
And saw you grow what with
Lashes of circumstances
She nurtured you unconditionally

What though senility has her
Throw tantrums and recriminations
Just be kind to love her as much
The way she reciprocated with love
To your adolescent misdemeanours

If god were to bless me with a momma
It shall be my present momma
I can only learn from a momma
So-called imperfect and faulty
She is my test to grow unearthly and divine

You never can win sans mommas love
Don’t try to acquire forcibly
Fail you shall miserably
Love unconditionally
Win you must!

There is no system of carrying forward
Today’s balance to to-morrow
You can earn each day and have days balance
Do not worry that is the way to the divine
Remember Ramakrishna’s dictum of
Daily cleansing of the container

Melt in love and you shall be god
You shall not reach greater heights,
Fathom greater depths
Without loving momma.
