Fingerflick Poem by Jake Tadla

Fingerflick

Another chapter unfolds
And the previous pages
Flipped by two fingers
Torn by the manus of clock’s second
One of the fictional characters
Catching the speeding bullet
From an anonymous villain from afar.
My eyes fell into your trance
Through your treading here and fro.
I never asked a thing from you
But every single question
That bugged me as I remember
My deepest longings… my desires
You showed it all through.
Cleared all that’s vogue;
Straightened what have been crooked,
And offered me eternity.
Since then you kept me beeping
Kept my thumb on errand
Until pain edged out yet happy.
Links turning to cable wires
Supporting the bridge of ourselves
Not entertaining any single chance
Of uprooting either posts.
A promise of forever and beyond
As our hands grip the hardest;
As my kiss of respect, care and love;
As my hug never slips away;
As my stare will always be
Nowhere but your eyes;
As my nose pace your hair threads;
As my lips explore your soul;
As my shoulder holds your head;
As my head lay on yours;
As my ears hear your words of love;
I love you… forever I’m yours.
