Finding Out Poem by Lydie Mathers

Finding Out

Rating: 3.8

Hear the steady rhythmic beat,

A love so strong fills the void it can not defeat,

Listen in awe amazed at what you hear,

You hug yourself tighter and hold the information dear,

A loving kiss he gives as you start to cry,

' Please check again, ' you ask and the other man asks 'Why? ',

' It's not that I am unhappy, for truely I am, '

Your husband squeezes a little tighter as he holds your hand,

You look into his face and there you see,

He is so very happy with what the outcome will be,

Looking at the screen you start to wonder,

How can I be sad and happy all in one, is this a blunder,

Then the other man smiles because he's actually heard this before,

From all the other hopefuls who have walked through his door,

You strain to listen above the rushing in your ears,

The man says it again and you feel your tears,

It doesn't matter because it's a wonderful gift,

So it wasn't exactly what you wanted but are happy with a heart that is uplift,

Time to start thinking ahead,

Your husband smiles still as he puts you to bed,

Dreams of how it will be ensue,

Today you have found out to think PINK and not Blue.
