The Waltz Poem by Lydie Mathers

The Waltz

Rating: 5.0

I sit in the stillness contemplating the quiet night.
Alone in the misty moonlight,
The stars whispering dreams in my ear as they kiss my brow with twinkling abandon.

Love.
He is there in the mist.
Slowly approaching with a determined glint.
I reach out to him and he for me.
Our bodies entwine softly in unison.

Secrets shared together as we begin to waltz.
The music envelopes and stretches time.
On and on we dance to an age old rhyme.
The dance is nothing more than a floating caress.

Gliding with one another.
Reaching, searching, grasping for the highest peak.
The rhythm becomes faster.
Swirling into an earth shattering crash, as together we reach that ultimate precipiece at long last.

Replete and boneless I lay there awhile.
Slowly the Dawn starts to turn the night sky to a soft shade of coral.
My whispering friends twinkle one last kiss as I open my eyes.
Smiling to my self I sigh, as I awake to understand.
Twas only a dream. Me and this beautiful Man.
