What Is Love? Poem by Lydie Mathers

What is love?
Is it this all consuming need and rushing blood
Or is it pure and simple, the want and touch of desire
Does it have to be an all encompassing fire
How do you know if it is real?
Perhaps nothing more then rushing desire and raging lust I feel?
Questions I can not answer swirl and crumble my thought process
A feeling of falling and giddy joy I must confess
If this is not Love then I don't want to know
For in my heart is a silent breath of hope
