Feral Twilight Poem by Wright Palafox

Feral Twilight

You smile, and you wait, and you pause longer still
And held me stunned against my will
My body unable to execute such acts I array
Your enchantment’s held no sway

Now beneath your mystic elegance
Futile I found for such pointless defiance
Liberated, free as such I fancy
To break away as much a necessity

The eyes discourse what the lips refuse to utter
To whom would the hushed warmly whisper?
Now grasped a short glimpse of heaven
Within your eyes, earthly desires now given

This sensation, fleeting and evanescent
Glances now caught, impressions then sent
These bonds which within held me
I know inside you’ll set me free

Your seraphim wings of light enduring
The darkness which hindered now hastily passing
Before then, my world thrust in utter despair
Blinded and lost in realms of incessant nightmare

When I had reached deplorable new lows
You were there to chase away all the shadows
A fallen angel’s such odd a sight
For I know you’re my feral twilight
