Federalism, Colonialism, Capitalism Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Federalism, Colonialism, Capitalism

What makes capitalism,
Any different than colonialism.
Or federalism.
And when communities share,
The same goals of unity.
With the same interest to end division.
Isn't this a form of socialism.

If families of those in the military,
Know certain benefits are offered...
To the ones enlisted and different,
From those who are officers...
With college degrees.
To have their 'social' rankings,
Listed on their shoulders to make known.
With patriotism shown.

Is this democracy.
Or a disguising of applied dictatorship.
Only the 'Commander and Chief',
Is greeted as if royality.
And what 'is' the definition of communism.
Where does apartheid fit in!
What has happened to the Puritans.
The Quakers.
And others who settled in New England.
Were they 'naturalized' citizens.
Or immigrants to bring and establish,
Their values to inflict.
Without them documented.
