Far-Fetched Dreams Poem by Katherine Bryce

Far-Fetched Dreams

I hear laughter,
everywhere I look,
I see these glares,
so I hide in a book.

I'm sick and tired,
of facing these days,
as if I'm trapped,
in a maze.

It's all so crazy,
how I have to face,
all these obstacles,
and lose the race.

It's really stupid,
when you stop to think,
of every second I spent,
trying not to sink.

I've been living,
a crazy little lie,
but I keep walking,
thinking 'Oh my! '

I was stupid,
for ever trying to see,
and make it happen,
a you and me.

But I know now,
they were far-fetched dreams,
and now it's done,
so it seems.
