Fame Binds Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Fame Binds

A singer, currently popular,
With surprisingly striking looks
And consequently golden voice,
In her late thirties,
Irresistibly fell in love,
As a surprise,
As against her orthodox modesty,
With an actor,
A father of a teenage daughter,
In a film song rehearsal.
No sooner did the love spark
Than it died, thanks to the media.
Fame denies you freedom of love.
