Facial Expressions Poem by Savita Tyagi

There is a kind of smile
A very sheepish smile that spreads across face
revealing to the world how wrong you are.

And in your heart you know it too,
Even though you may be using the best defense
To prove how correct your point is.

This is the smile so often seen today on
So many politician's faces.

There is a snake-eyes charm
That divulges their treacherous heart
Even when their words sound honest.

Then there are some with delusional minds
who construct their own truth as mythical
As calling a sunny day a dark night.

Given the position and power they will display a
Callous disregard for truth and anger on their faces
If their judgement isn't declared and followed as truth.

Truth is revealed not by words
But by facial expressions.
