Escapes To Take Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Escapes To Take

With effort to endeavor,
A better way to do what one does.
Seems more to invite,
The passing of judgement.
To then from them who make attempts,
Without receiving encouragement.
Left to wonder for who and why,
They try to make a difference.

When that difference would be better made,
Away from headache makers.
And problem creators...
Who assist many doctors in prescribing,
Fresh and new medications.

As they...
The doctors.
Vacation at exclusive places.
Swinging golf clubs.
And grateful to have the 'patients'.
Who recommend escapes to take,
Becoming addicted yet appreciate.
At their expense.
Keeping their doctors,
Relaxed and loving the practice of it.

"I was told you had a handicap.
But I don't notice it at all."

-My weakness?
Is loving too much,
What it is I do for patients like you.-

"So...
That's why I always see you smiling."

-Without you...
My handicap,
Would be more noticeable to show.
My entire family,
Thanks all of you for your many visits.-
