I sat on a rock in the middle of a forest
And screamed to the trees
'I have lost everything! '
'You have lost nothing, ' they would whisper back
'For you have enough mind to speak.'
'What would you know about me! ? ' I shout back
'I buried my heart in the dirt to keep it safe, and now it's gone! '
Tears stain the rock below, engraving wet patterns
Showing the true color of my heart
'Speak' the trees offered 'Hold your own and grow a new heart,
'but don't bury it in the ground. Instead, keep it
in the open and let it grow strong. Trust your
mind and follow what you have learned. Speak
and grow.'

Wowser! Well done! You are quite exceptional at writing blank and free verse. I like the set scene, you work everything in so you get across the message while at the same time setting up a story that's easily followed. I give ya 10. Keep it up!
