Endless Winter Night Poem by Jake Andrews

Endless Winter Night

Wandering through a winter night
Looking for the warmth of light
Found a spark and let it grow
Its easy in dark for light to show

She told me that i love too much
Maybe i could have figured as such
Because of this she has to go
I felt crushed but didnt let it show

Never had a fire to keep me warm
Always had to battle alone against the storm
My tears fell first as rain then hail then snow
Not an ember left to make my eyes glow

What it feel to love and not recieve
Much like god willing to decieve
As if god had left a son
And didnt let him know just for fun

The snow is heavy and falling out of trees
Only now i find i have the disease
Blanketed in a sea of white
I cannot find which direction is right

I try to figure what went wrong
It never helps to listen to a love song
She never meant to go that far
But i loved her anyway thats just how some people are
