Castles By The Sea Poem by Jake Andrews

Castles By The Sea

I built my life around me
It treated me as a king
The ediface that is my life, fell into the sea
Crumbled at its base, a bird with out a wing

I worked and toiled again
And built on higher ground
But it lasted no longer, as it had back then
It crashed upon the earth, and never made a sound

I came to know my fate
Lie within the dirt
And i built myself a grave, before it was too late
As I lay inside it, the thought began to hurt

I took my life from myself
And living alongside the pain
I found living my way, did much to harm my health
As i thought of a wasted life, much remained the same

Along came a mason
Created me out of stone
The crack inside was healed, the bond began to hasten
Suddenly the mortar split, and she left me all alone
