Enchanted Poem by Carol Nichols

Enchanted

Rating: 4.6

A little girl sits at the edge of the sea

Digging for creatures in the cool, wet sand

The white-haired child with sun kissed cheeks

Unearths the sand monsters that dance in her hands

She sends them back to their underground world

As the waves leave behind a whispering foam

Enchanting deep water of weed and pearl

Spellbinds the small child who walks alone

The sand illuminates around her feet

Each step casting rings of gold

The sky in a blaze of folly pink

With the snow moon seducing her soul

A soliloquy cogitating on the child hood memories And reliving it in poetic form Explaining the beauty oft he sand and the sunkissed cheeks Whispering foam, enchanting water if weed and pearl, illuminating sand in the sunshine. This is simply marvelous poem. Thank you dear poetess.

Only the 2nd poem I've read of yours, and both feature the ocean! Having lived at the beach for the past 25 years, I'd say your descriptions are excellent! May your attraction to the ocean, and your writing continue!

I grew up in a small fishing town in Florida and the ocean is a huge part of who I am. Thank you so much for reading!

Hi Carol, A wonderful poem. Exquisite one: the waves leave behind a whispering foam what an image! ! ! I think I am able to hear the whisper of the foam while reading the poem..... That's about waves foam sea and nature. Now, to just see how nature celebrates childhood: Enchanting deep water of weed and pearl Spellbinds the small child who walks alone The sand illuminates around her feet Each step casting rings of gold The sky in a blaze of folly pink With the snow moon invoking her soul Loved this poem. Thrilled! ! A 100+++
