Elephant Acrostic

Ears are large but so is he;
Little creatures from him flee.
Earthquake, almost, when he walks;
Prowess showing when he talks.
He is the largest thing on land,
At least that walks, you understand.
Now here's a fact that's sure to please:
There is no other with four knees.

your note about 'knees' forced me to Google: do horses have four knees? one, the first, disclaimer i saw was: Search Results There's a popular internet factoid which states that the elephant is the only animal which has four knees. But it doesn't; it has two knees at the back, and elbows and wrists at the front, exactly like other quadrupeds. Elephants, horses, dogs and all other quadruped mammals have two knees and two elbows. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Prowess showing when he talks.............do you talk to the 'animals'? ? :) i have at times. but i don't understand their replies. He is the largest thing on land, At least that walks, you understand..............i guess you never saw my mother-in-law. i believe the photo is that of an Asian elephant which i 'hear' has much smaller ears than African elephants. nice one and photo to match. checkmate! bri ;)
