Elders Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Elders

Elders

Here is a castle and palace
- "Come, stay and soon die."

People are elderly
-if not all, then mostly,
-the tongues used, to speak,
-differ much and vastly.

Each person, jar of needs
-to walk, talk, locating,
-finding food, medicines.

It is live theatre, a worthy
-for watching patiently.
-Best ever film, movies
-run in halls and lobbies.
-Silently must observe, joyfully
-a fallen broken trunk, on a twig.

Saw, today, two women
-with nothing there to share
-except, and possibly,
-the many years spent.

One spoke spitting
-her tongue out, rattling
-and other face covered
-with lack of memory…

Prior was leader
-she spoke in Farsi.

Latter searched for her room
-and spoke Arabic…

Stopped car of the Lift:
- "Here is floor four,
-where you live, your room is.

What a scene! Was lovely.
