Easter Tidings Poem by Ellen Ni Bheachain

Easter Tidings

Rating: 3.0

Easter tidings and good wishes to all,
Easter celebrations for the resurrection of our Lord.
It is on this day that Christians celebrate,
The gift God sent when he sent his son,
For through Christ's death, burial, and resurrection,
Jesus took on the atonement for all our sins,
So, we could be reborn and live again,

On good Friday Isa Nasrani (Jesus in Christ) was executed by crucifixion,
He died at Calvary on the cross,
He was laid to rest in a tomb nearby,
With an oval stone covering the entrance to the tomb.
Roman guards were sent to guard the tomb,
Day and night,
So, no-one could steal the body of Christ.

On the third day, the stone had been rolled away,
The tomb was open and no Christ to be found,
Yet, sighting of Christ was seen to his disciples,
Christ had died and Christ had risen,
And all that believed were given salvation,
And the gift of eternal life in heaven,

Jesus taught love, care and understanding,
Forgiveness and repentance,
And cleansing of your spirit,
For Jesus Christ did live and die,
And from that day forth,
Christianity was born.
