Earth Angel Poem by louis rams

Earth Angel

Earth Angel
,
I met a man named Dave and what little he had he gave.
He worked hard and paid his bills and with selfish people he had his fill
He met many homeless people on the streets without
shoes to protect their feet, with a blanket thrown across their backs
living along the railroad tracks.
People of all walks passed them by as they sat alone and cried.
Families who have lost their jobs with no other family or help insight
Living in their cars day and night.
Asking for help on the streets, for gas and food for them to eat.
This family with three children caught Dave's eye and he sat
Down on the curb and began to cry.
He did not remember walking up to them and thinks that it was heaven sent
He took the family to his house, the children, the woman, and her spouse.
He told them that they would have to sleep on the couch and the floor
Cause he did not have anything more.
They all thanked Dave and ran to take a shower - for Christmas
Would be here in a few more hours.
They wanted to thank GOD for this blessing that Dave was giving
Bringing hope to the living.
(When we are at our lowest peak an earth angel is what we seek)
My old saying is; (don't spare it share it - don't hide it divide it)
