Hope is but a daemon with no face
A totem gazed upon for some strength
Denial disregards the truth
Which you must face
Desire is the seal which you must break
Dual natured grueling suture
The other side of mere illusion
Beckoned souls through happenstance
Tear the veil, begin the dance
Beat the drums into a trance
Slow motioned movements melt and mirror
Fire rises, pathways clearer
Instrumental tools that gather
Embrace the random, climb the ladder
To a throne you're shown a face
Despair greets you with hopes embrace
Instrumental tools that gather.......beautiful lines composed in this poem. Expressive and nicely penned.
This is great. Very thought provoking. A bit scary, in a good way. Nice work.
I love a work with multiple meanings. and a clever and inventive use of allusions, that get Freudians a hard on. To me I sounds like your given to the darker side of your personality, and the admittance of he beast from within. Everyday we put on a face to meet the world, we go to work we go to school we hang out with friends and within each environment we become duel doppelgangers of our true selves, its only when we are by ourselves with our own thoughts that we become the actual people we really are is when we face the duality and get control of the doppelganer and then acclaim some freedom of identity. Instrumental tools that gather Embrace the random, climb the ladder To a throne you're shown a face Despair greets you with hopes embrace I can definitely see a little bit of Maynard Keenan in those lines, I Especially like the second line there, random events, but then you have the closing where the lines echo the first line of the beginning of the poem. Its like a never ending purgatory where one discovers the horror of being trapped in a cycle again and again. This is Fan Freaking tastic. You didn't just write a poem, you wrote a worded fractal, it ends as it begins, despair tastes like life.
I very much enjoyed reading this poem. I felt as if some-one from an older time period were reading to me as I read it. Beautiful poem. Bien!
I really like the first few lines. Hope.... the biggest fault in us. It builds us up mak dream of the impossible only to let us dne for the most part.Well done!
Hope is a daemon with no face ........................................................... ..................................................................... Despair greets you with hopes embrace! We hope for things knowing that it is only a totem that gives us the strength to face life. Even when we climb the ladder to a throne, what awaits us there at the end is an illusion of hope which is the doppelganger of despair.... Thus we are continually churned in the whirl of dualities of hope and despair! A very very deep write, unfathomable and dark like an abyss! The poem ends where it begins.... In life, the ultimate reality is frustration, and hopelessness!
A very deep and thought provoking write, when reality bites we have to be prepared to bite back!
Embrace the random, climb the ladder I love this because life can be painful and that should be expected, so we should just embrace life as it comes at us.

I would like to translate this poem
A very interesting title on life's duality. Very true said about hope, though without it won't be any balance. I really like the tone and the flow of the last two stanzas, a progressively building up... is jocund, full of optimism and energy... I love it!
