I'm glad it's over
Though I feel the ache
Of memories fresh, my heart still breaks
But loving true,
When all in vain
Alas the storm, has brought the rain
It weeps down salty
Upon my cheek
My resolve is strong, though my heart is weak
But, I'll accept today
With no fear or fight
The few rough days and rougher nights
For the future sings
Tomorrow's song
If my heart will chance to sing along
And I carry no ax
To cause you pain
No bitter rumor or grievous stain
As I wish you peace
And happiness too
And a love that keeps you tried and true
But, I'm glad it's over
Make no mistake
Please don't look back, for both our sakes

I would like to translate this poem
A dolorously sweet piece that revives the pains and throbs of dead love...quite reminiscent of plaintive episodes in my own tumultuous romantic histories. Thanks for sharing these deliciously nostalgic lines! ~~~ Hannington.
