Donkeys And Elephants Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Donkeys And Elephants

Rating: 4.0

Forget about donkeys and elephants.
And these tumultuous,
What they have become to represent.

Chaotic and combative.
And a childishness to observe and view.
Name calling and insults exchanged.
Between two debating.
As one clearly more mature.
Than the other who sits,
Dumping nonsense and incompetence.

Yet...
Both postering with an embarrassing reflection.
To have age from times,
Long gone to have passed.
Leaving all donkeys and elephants,
Seen treating themselves...
To complete make overs from head to toe.
Including a much needed and overdue,
Update on their sagging 'aspirations'!

Interesting commentary on the presidential debate, I suppose. I wish it could have been clearer.
