'Don'T Be Sad My Darling, Don'T' Poem by Victoria Hughes

'Don'T Be Sad My Darling, Don'T'

Rating: 4.1

For Eileen

I woke up one day
And you were gone.
The clouds had turned to grey,
I woke up and found
You had moved on,
No longer bringing sunshine my way.

I got up to a call
At the news of your passing
My breath caught in my throat,
I answered the phone
And heard you laughing
'Don't be sad my darling, don't.

I am happy,
the old gang's back together,
We are all as one,
And when the time comes
We'll be there
When it is time for you to move on.'

Something similar happened in my life! I like this, victoria. Suggestion: the last line...'When it is time for 'you' to move on'...I wonder, would it complete the 'closure' if that line read...'When it is time for us to move on'...just a thought. L
