Dolphins Poem by GORDON BUTCHERS

Dolphins

Rating: 4.5

Dolphins souring gracefully on the ocean waves,
A scene of pleasure and joy,
Swimming through their fragile environment
That is so easy to destroy.

Slaughtered mercilessly without reason
And constantly under threat,
From Man's marine exploits
And miles of deadly drift net.

Killed as if with no guilt or conscience
And no sence or shame,
Dying in a sea red with thier blood
And haunting cries of pain.

A sad end so such a beautiful creature,
That is so plain to see,
They should be left in the safe arms of mother nature
To roam the oceans wild and free.

A lovely piece of poetry depicting the plight of Dolphins caused by human activities in the sea. A nice poem, well articulated and insightfully penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
