Distance Poem by Mackenzie Prickett

Distance

I'd like to make you happy;
I'd like to make you smile;
I'd like to say I know a thing more powerful than miles.

I know you're feeling nervous;
I know you're feeling scared;
I know you feel long distance is romantically impaired.

I want you to feel good;
I want you to feel right;
I want you to feel comfortable with all my loving might.

With this I say I like you;
With this I say I do;
With this I say I'd love to much to simply be with you.

I understand your worry;
I understand your stress;
I understand long distance may seem like a total mess.

Allow me to put it this way;
Allow me to explain;
I just can't get you off my heart or even off my brain.

I may be going crazy;
I may be going mad;
But as soon as I converse with you my day's no longer bad.

Could we give this a chance?
Could we give this a try?
When I speak or even think of you I get a sudden high.

As I lay down to slumber;
As I lay down to snooze;
As I lay down to sleep at night my thoughts return to you.
