Disposable Society Poem by Kevin Patrick

Disposable Society

Rating: 4.5

Annex the whole boreal to make a bigger lavatory
for a supermarket graveyard in a five mile crater Stacked with asphalt basins removing biophysical
Fresh cellulose products are adapt for polyvinyl biomes
from everything that caters to your personal entitlement luxuries build self-esteem while massacring entire faunas

Fill up entire valleys for parking lots and strip malls replace what is organic for labels called biodegradable Propylene Nylon khakis and Polycarbonate earphones If it doesn’t have a sell by date then it must be unnatural With Bottle caps and plastic bags, contaminate small tributaries bleaching native pastures with runoff consumer sewage

Decapitate a Douglass to use its corpse as toiled paper
as an aerosol aromas, freshly minted with Pine fragrance
Catered to your instant pleasures in several mint varieties and celebrate a holocaust depleting the outer permafrost
Flat screen TV's and old P.C.'s, fulfill our rapid vapid lives
While Reeboks Shoes with flashy soles make all desires casual

ten thousand years destroyed for redesigned geography
A million years to weep for seeds as non retrieved mementos of
Our Disposable society

Adios too Jack pines, now make a wave for more mini malls
Halogen lamps improve the sun, A/C air is better rune
Walk around the promenade and just pretend its natural Eliminate authentic jungles for mass consumer arboretums
Glitzy Souks with aluminum courts create the state of gluttonous bazaars Look at trees as ornaments without their natural benefit

Drown a marshy land bog for a sea of concrete parking lots;
improve the smell with kiosk stalls just replace a rabbits warren
Satisfy your weekend lulls, it's sure to give developers cause
To flush out chickadees, lynxes, any remaining caribou
With bulldozer evictions, lead the charge with peek a boo

The standards of living always grow more to expire
Goods for 15 minutes that now served for carbon dating

Swim the Yanzee River and get a close up of bottle dolphins the mercury inside the stream carries their polyethylene coffins then take a sudden detour into the pacific garbage patch Watching a floating whirlpool of over a billion plastic products Enjoy the sight of sea turtles chocking on your six packs epitaphs While whooping cranes and Albatross drown in micro plastic traps

Everywhere Landfills increase with virulent
More metropolis of garbage towering skyscrapers junk
All Time capsule mementos of our
Disposable Society

Drive Supersized hot wheels for oversized children
Ride a fiberglass mammoth, For a middle class tank
The sky is choked black from a soccer mom pimps cruise:
Insulate with Plexiglas; block the window of the fumes
While geriatric pizzas with snot infectious Swiss cheese
Are competing for the title of nostril flavored anthrax
In retrospect it wouldn't have killed if we all went compact

There what's left in our thoughtless collections
Degenerate perfection in industrial solutions
our toy pollution, in a million year regressions
Compacted to fit in our cellophane trophies The temporary plaques of leisure Diadems Plowing this planet with a refuse metropolis Of towering high rises of corrugated cardboard Cityscapes of logos dressed in piled packages Heaping Micro bacterial evolving resistance residential rodents and necrophilia Autotrophs
Increasing the Package and our selfish intentions to parasitic inclinations of exponential hazards Contaminated paradise Disposable society

Neutralize the atmosphere and put Oxygen on life-support Increase prepackaged suppers with wrap around plasticene Just take some bottled air, and tell your children it's always there
Prove to them life's never free, even when it comes to breath
Stock up on name brand goods Like Apple, Nike and Pepsi Cola Then pat yourself on the back for being a conservationist
Importing from long distance improves stock values of Starbucks dissembling the amazon for authentic green roasted beans
What you need you never know, until you reap the seeds you sow

More Shopping sprees for viral needs With debit cards for pneumatic creeds To buy more wealth in housefly goods Improves the outlooks for bipolar moods
Inoculate the resistance with polyetheen confetti The Gaudi leather couches and complimentary settee’s Video games, fast food confections

so make a plastic grave to our Disposable Society

Wow! And Wow! You've pretty much covered it all. What an excellent poem! Should definitely be Poem Of The Day! And I think it would make a great song. I can hear Dylan singing it. Bravo, Kevin!
