Unintelligible Susurration

Desperation

The desperation
of not knowing
if help is on the way
overwhelms me
to a point where
I've just about given up

I cannot -
I will not -
Lift my head
And try again

There is no point
When there isn't any
Mother birds
To encourage
their little ones to fly.

Kind solace in a dying hour!
Such, father, is not (now) my theme-
I will not madly deem that power
Of Earth may shrive me of the sin
