Desperado Poem by Jacob macharia

Desperado

Rating: 5.0

My days are long,
My nights are longer.
The sun is taking long to shine
And the dazzling moon is quick to die...
The eerie darkness is tight engulfing
The light at the end of the tunnel quickly dimming,
The crossroads are more and more confusing,
And the reknown path growing thorns and thickets.
The white flag closely beckoning,
While the play off whistle is slowly fading away.
The tither of hope is clearly disentangled,
And the knots getting lose by every blink.
The legs are getting heavier for the next step,
The mind blank for the next thought,
The hands weaker and feeble for the next catch,
The lips cracked to afford the next smile...
Muscles are shyly throwing in the towel..
'It gonna be okay' becoming a cliche by day..
And 'hang on' becoming unethical by night.
The mysteries of tomorrow killing the faith,
And fear of the unknown taking the course..
Why the forsaken,
Why the lost faith,
Why the shaken trust...
Desperado....
