Desire. Poem by Derrick Andrews

Desire.

You can't fight desire, nor repel its lustful flame.
It burns you in your faithlessness, and scars you with your shame.
But I can't Fight the urge that tells me I've been wanting more.
The sense that brings out emptiness that shatters to the floor.
My love will break the will to leave, or taint my innocence.
But the evil shall remain so, no matter how much he repents.
