Derrick Andrews Poems

My selfish, blind ignorance, may cost me the best,

Such a long journey, such a strenuous quest,
...

Memories of smiling faces,
Life and death now trading places,
You'll always be here, to me,
Only difference now, is that you're free,
...

A glance back at the past,
Even then it was fake,
We were not meant to last,
You're one giant mistake,
...

What is this strange feeling?
This meek, suddle emptiness,
It seems not to be healing,
To me, but none the less,
...

As life goes on I can do nothing but shout,

from the pain and the torture, my anguish rings out,
...

Everyday of my life, grows exceedingly harder,

My legs have grown weak, I can't go any farther,
...

Loneliness,
This hollow shell,
This silent bliss,
This brand new hell,
...

I lay, nonchalantly and acceptingly, upon a plain of fire.
Pain is all I know, all I feel.
I watch my wounds appear and heal instantaneously as if I were some distorted, human lava lamp.
Suddenly, through the veil of heat, a blurry silhouette shimmers in the distance.
...

Staring at my mirror, displeased and distraught,

reminiscing upon all the battles ive fought,
...

This feeling,
My suffering,
Not healing,
Just muffling,
...

Anxiety, Suspense,
Did I move a second early?
I let down my defense,
And to think that, surely,
...

Flowing throughout me,
From head to toe,
A feeling of glee,
That does not go,
...

Your stare of compassion could use no disguise,
As intense and captivating as red-orange skies,
Yet, they retain a dark beauty that shimmers and flies,
It's the smile of the moon, that I see in your eyes.
...

When I am shrouded in darkness,
When I no longer recognize light,
When I accept despair as my fate,
And pure, untainted sadness as my inevitability,
...

I like the simple things,
She likes it complicated,
Fast cars and diamond rings,
And I'm tryin' hard to make it,
...

I once knew a boy,
Claimed he was sentimental,
Said his mind and body functioned on a higher level,
Than those who're just concerned with sexual desire,
...

The extent of the greed of mankind, is sickeningly depressing,

for a person would rather fill their wallet, than give a single blessing,
...

My hopes have abandoned me, I lay goal-less and lost,

My own faults have caused this, and I'm paying the cost,
...

And again, I am wrong,
You weren't here,
All along,
And yet... here I am,
...

The constant, majestic twinkling of stars in navy blue skies
The divine, pulchritudinous fusions of colorful dyes
Appear to be nothing but dung covered flies
...

The Best Poem Of Derrick Andrews

I'M Sorry I Hurt You...

My selfish, blind ignorance, may cost me the best,

Such a long journey, such a strenuous quest,

All of my life i'd been searching for love,

And you seemed like a blessing, a gift from above,

But in my anger i hurt you, and i must pay the cost,

I pray you'll forgive me, if not all is lost,

Will it all end in ruins? Will it be all for not? ,

Forsaken by my foolishness, i must have forgot,

She's the one thing i wanted, the one thing i need,

And i've pushed her away, with my ignorant greed,

If she knew just how much that i want her to stay,

How i wish that this feeling would just go away,

This unbearable guilt that i've caused on my own,

I feel as if i've cut her deep, straight to the bone,

She must know that i need her love to survive,

And without her i'd be more dead than alive,

She must know that i love her, after all that we've been through,

And it pains me so much, to know that i've hurt you,

Baby i'm so sorry, i know i did wrong,

But right by your side is where i belong...
