Deluded With Cheers Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Deluded With Cheers

The fool refuses to use a flashlight
To find his way through a cave.
He's deluded with the cheers he hears...
Believing them sighs instead of cries!
He leads an entourage,
Dwindling as he creeps.
And one of them by the name of Blair...
Hauls ass to keep,
A waning dignity he knows is bleak!
'There's a dead end at the bottom! '
Yells a woman in heels as she weeps!
