Death By Chocolate Poem by Srivishnu Rentala

Death By Chocolate

There was that moment,
'twas a pleasure, so unreal;
a minute or two it might have lasted,
but cherished for days to come.
That moment, where the world ceased to spin
where my eyes could see only bliss
and I smacked my lips in delight.
My blood danced in my veins;
oozing with anticipation laced by adrenaline.
My tongue fluttered to life,
banged on the doors of my mouth
with such desperation, even a pauper wouldn't have had.
Every sense tingled in a resonant chill,
and before my heart melted away
I felt my lips part ways
So I pulled closer, inched as near as I could
to invite that sweet scent of life.
Time froze in each second,
as the first drop trickled down
the sides of my gullet.
And as it ravished further,
bringing a serene calm
it left me hanging, yearning for more.
Ah what a beauty, to just sip and relish
Aromatic buds of vanilla.
So I let go of everything, and let it take control
for i wanted to die a death,
A Death By Chocolate.
