Dear Little Friend Poem by David Harris

Dear Little Friend

For Arthur 1999 – 2015

You lie in your forever sleep
away from all the pain,
but the family you’ve left
still love and miss you.

Years have come and gone
since you first came in
to brighten up our lives
with smiles and laughter.

I write this now
because your family
adopted and otherwise
love you and miss you.

The dust of sorrow
will never settle so long
as our memories
live on and survive.

In your heaven you reside
along with others we loved
forever to enjoy
the glow and protection it brings.

There you can play with
the others our heart
so deeply mourn for
until we meet again someday.
