Dear God Poem by Lora Cooley

Dear God

You've a pretty mouth
Left to linger on my skin
I will roll off the city's skin make you remember me
Kiss me one last time
I will roll off your tongue like a suture in this town
Remember the way my hands felt
I am transparent

Dear God
Whisper secrets
Speak in a hushed voice
In a soundproof room
In a windowless world
Keep your voice down
I put on my bedroom face for him

Dear God
There is no excuse for me
